Challenges, Opportunities and Gender Nuances

Call for Papers
The Women’s Studies Center of Cochin University of Science and Technology invites
submission of papers to the National Webinar being conducted in connection with the
International Women’s Day 2022. The webinar will take place virtually on 8th and 9th of March
2022.


The focal theme of the webinar is Gender and STEM intended to explore the existing
challenges, opportunities and gender nuances in the STEM field and to foster multidisciplinary
studies on Women’s and Gender issues in India.


Topics of papers may include, but not limited to
• Gender and Sexual Minorities in STEM: Challenges, Opportunities and Future.
• Gender and Technology.
• Gender and Higher Education.
• Inclusion and Marginalization
• Strategies for Gender Mainstreaming
• Institutional Systems and Structures
• Stereotypes and Prejudices
• Glass Ceiling
• Family, Social Institutions, and Career Choices
Full papers with abstract for presentation are invited from students, research scholars, and other
for the webinar. Entries will be scrutinized and the papers selected for presentation will be
considered for publication in the Journal of Women, Empowerment, and Technology (WET)
published by the Women’s Studies Centre (ISSN: 2394-4420).
Guidelines for Papers and Presentation.
• The submissions may be emailed to wsc.cusat@gmail.com with the subject line as
“Submission to Webinar on Gender and STEM”
• Submissions selected for presentation will be intimated over email.
• Word limit: Submissions should not be not more than 6000 words including abstract,
references and tables.
• General formatting and references should be followed as per APA Publication Manual,
7th edition.
• Please note that the above mentioned topics are only suggestive themes. Participants are
free to contribute in any other related area, provided they are related to the focal theme.
• Participants who do not wish to present a paper may register using the link given below
to get notified about the webinar sessions.
