40 years of women priests in Australia (well, most of Australia)

You are invited to the anniversary conference in Brisbane in November

While many think that the work of MOW is over, given the number of women deacons, priests and bishops now serving with distinction in the Anglican Church of Australia, it’s not the case. The Dioceses of Sydney, Armidale and the North-West don’t ordain women as priests or recognise the ordination of women priests and bishops by other dioceses and there’s still a crying need to support women in lay and ordained leadership, ensuring their gifts are recognised and respected.

The conference will be bringing an outstanding collection of speakers to Brisbane to explore women’s experiences in Christian ministry, to understand problems they might face, particularly in relation to sexual violence in the church, and to build national and international networks that will support them in their religious and spiritual lives long after the conference has concluded.
